Jobs On Set: Producer

The Producer is in charge of putting the shoot together and making sure everything runs smoothly. Before filming (“Pre-Production”) they work with the Client to find out exactly what they want, and with the Director and Scriptwriter to develop the project to these specifications. They will also look after the budget and plan all the different elements of the shoot, from booking the crew to finding locations.

On set, they are there to make sure everything stays to plan (or as close to plan as possible), that the Client, Director, Cast and Crew are all happy, and that filming doesn’t go over time – or over budget.

In this video, Producer Izy discusses her role.
