Learning Technologies

Bright and early last Wednesday morning Nice Media’s Managing Director, Melanie Hickmore, and I caught the train from Brighton to London to attend the Learning Technologies 2014 conference.

As a relative ‘newbie’ to eLearning, this was the first time I had attended the conference. I was initially surprised by how busy it was. It had only just gone 10am, but the conference was already in full swing. However, I later learnt that the conference is in its 16th year and is ‘Europe’s leading showcase of technology supported workplace learning‘ which attracts an impressive 6,000 visitors!

The conference hall was chock-a-block with brightly coloured stalls with eye-grabbing displays. With more than 140 free seminars and over 250 exhibitors it was impossible to run out of things to do or watch at the exhibition.

Having just published our white paper on eLearning trends for 2014, it was really interesting seeing how eLearning companies were embracing these trends. Many companies were demonstrating that they are delivering eLearning on a variety of mobile devises and there was a range of innovative social learning mechanisms being showcased.

Being a video production company, we were very impressed and excited by the amount of video being used in eLearning.

Thanks to everyone we spoke to on the day for making our 2014 conference great. We are already looking forward to the 2015 conference!
