Health Education England: Knowledge Mobilisation Framework

Our client

Health Education England (HEE) exists for one reason only: to support the delivery of excellent healthcare and health improvement to the patients and public of England by ensuring that the workforce of today and tomorrow has the right numbers, skills, values and behaviours, at the right time and in the right place.

What was the problem?

HEE needed to improve service delivery for patients by encouraging staff to share knowledge. They were building an online knowledge management programme giving insight into a range of four Knowledge Management Tools. As part of the programme, 14 video drama clips were needed to demonstrate how these tools can work in practice.

What solution did we offer?

Each of the management tools – Self-Assessment, Peer Assist, Action Learning Sets and Retrospect needed a different fictional setting and presentation. Because each tool would be presented in a separate course, we were able to cast 6 actors who played a variety of roles across the four settings. This approach, plus filming in a single setting allowed us to produce around 25 minutes of high quality drama in a day’s filming.

What was the outcome?

The full e-learning programme has been well received and the video content particularly praised.

“Working with Nicemedia has been a highlight for us on our recent eLearning project. This was our first video production using professional actors; it could easily have been very overwhelming. We were supported at every stage from script writing, filming to editing. The team were really friendly, creative and fun to work with and walked us through it all with ease and professionalism. We’re very happy with the final result!”
